Just Outside the beautiful Border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed you will find the three star Cat Inn, which dates back to 1740, and has been serving fine ales and hearty food to travellers on The Great North Road ever since. Today The Cat Inn is a great place from which to discover the surrounding area of North Northumberland and the Scottish Borders from.
The holy island of Lindisfarne, which was the birthplace of Christianity in England is just 3 miles away across a tidal causeway, and the stunning World Heritage coastline with its castles and golden sandy beaches has to be seen to be believed.
The inn has very comfortable accommodation, and you are always guaranteed a warm Northumbrian welcome. There are seven beautifully furnished en-suite rooms for you to choose from; each with a TV and Freeview, a complimentary selection of hot beverages and biscuits, and a hairdryer. Families with children are always made very welcome, and highchairs and cots are available as required. Pet owners will be pleased to note that small well-behaved dogs are welcome by prior agreement.
