In October 2013, Rosalind Bache took over The Salutation Inn and has gone to great lengths to make it somewhere special. This Northumberland inn will be a familiar sight to many who have ambled outside the famous town of Berwick-upon-Tweed.

It’s a charming establishment, and has become a renowned place for weary travellers, passing cyclists, campers and others, to stop and enjoy the welcoming ambiance and great food.

The Salutation Inn has two guest bedrooms, as well as a camping site and static caravans. Pitch a tent in the marvellous Northumberland countryside, where you’re sure to see some local wildlife which includes deer and owls.

While all who stay a while at the inn or at the camping site, will benefit from warm hospitality, it’s those who enjoy superb food and good company who will get the most out of The Salutation Inn.

The restaurant menu boasts many hearty favourites, and there is sure to be something for every whim of the taste-buds. The dishes are made from the finest locally sourced produce, whenever possible. This means you can expect the meat of your Slow Roast Blade of Beef to come from R.G.

Foreman Butchers, based in nearby Norham, and your Grilled Scottish Salmon Fillet to come directly from Eyemouth Harbour via D.R. Collins. From daily specials like Homemade Soup with Crusty Bread to enduring temptations like Sticky Toffee Pudding, it’s a menu to make every mouth water. There is also a range of lighter meals, which are ideal for those gathering with friends in the Beer Garden.

Sunday’s are a special event at The Salutation Inn. This is when you can gather for a traditional roast, which is served between noon and 4 in the afternoon.

Children are most welcome at The Salutation Inn. There’s a new children’s play area near the Beer Garden. In addition, there’s a pool table and dart board.
